Indonesian Speaker Maharani arrives in Baku for key Asian Parliamentary Assembly session PHOTO

Puan Maharani, Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, has arrived in Azerbaijan for a working visit to attend the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).

According to a statement from the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova highlighted the significance of the APA as a key parliamentary platform bringing together Asian parliaments, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

She further noted that critical issues would be discussed at the plenary session taking place in Baku.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of such events in enhancing bilateral relations and acknowledged the positive influence of inter-parliamentary collaboration on the broader development of state-to-state ties.

The discussion also touched upon the cooperation between legislative bodies within international organizations, such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the OIC Parliamentary Assembly, and the APA.
