Iran approves extradition of Azerbaijani citizen wanted for theft

The authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran have approved the extradition request submitted by the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan for Ulvi Rafig oglu Huseynov, an Azerbaijani national.

According to an official statement from Azerbaijan’s General Prosecutor's Office, Guseinov is suspected of theft. After being charged as a suspect, he reportedly evaded investigation and was subsequently declared internationally wanted, Caliber.Az reports. 

The Iranian Ministry of Justice’s Penitentiary Service is currently undertaking the necessary procedures to facilitate the transfer of Huseynov back to Azerbaijan.
