Iran launches phase two of major air defence drill in southwest
On February 4, the Iranian Armed Forces launched the second phase of the Eqtedar (Authority) 1403 air defence exercise in the southwest of the country.
Under the guidance of Iran's Integrated Air Defence Network, the exercise is taking place in the southwest and central regions, where forces will focus on detecting, identifying, intercepting, and neutralizing hostile aerial targets, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
The exercise, which involves both the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is part of ongoing efforts to improve operational readiness and battlefield preparedness, in line with directives from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
To recap, at the earlier stage of the exercises, Iran's top military official praised the Iranian Army's "upper hand" in confronting the nation's adversaries.
Major General Mohammad Bagheri highlighted the Armed Forces' successful use of robotic sciences, artificial intelligence, and electronic warfare technologies, lauding their "high preparedness to defend the country’s territory."
He also commended the Iranian military’s capability to leverage modern defensive sciences and technologies.
"We enjoy the necessary readiness in the field of electronic warfare towards confronting the enemy, and [our] military forces provide the nation with security and calm in the desired and decent manner."
