Iranian defense delegation visits Azerbaijan to strengthen military, education ties PHOTO / VIDEO
A delegation from the Supreme National Defence University of Iran is visiting Azerbaijan this week, engaging in a series of official meetings and educational tours.
The delegation began its visit at Baku’s Victory Park, laying a wreath at the Victory Monument, followed by a visit to the Alley of Martyrs, where they paid tribute to fallen servicemen, Caliber.Az reports per Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry.
Major General Gunduz Abdulov, Rector of Azerbaijan’s National Defence University (NDU), hosted the delegation, which was led by Rear Admiral Javad Dadashzadeh, Deputy Rector for Training and Education of the Iranian institution. During extensive talks, the Azerbaijani side outlined the history, educational system, and main activities of the NDU, as well as reforms and achievements in the country’s military education sector.
The Iranian guests also toured the Military Administration Institute and the Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum, where they received detailed briefings on the institutions’ programs and educational approaches. The delegation visited monuments dedicated to National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Jamshid Nakhchivanski, signing the Book of Memory and learning about their legacies.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in military science and education, with both sides exploring avenues for collaboration and sharing expertise in the development of military training between Azerbaijan and Iran.
