Iranian presidential adviser arrives in Baku for high-level talks Photo
An adviser to the Iranian president on political affairs, Mehdi Sanaei, has arrived in Azerbaijan for an official visit.
Sanai is scheduled to meet with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, as well as Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and other senior officials, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
In a recent development, Azerbaijan and Iran have agreed to take further steps to enhance mutual trust during Hikmet Hajiyev's visit to the neighbouring country.
Following discussions in Tehran with Iranian officials, including Mehdi Sanaei and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Hajiyev highlighted the commitment to strengthening bilateral ties based on peaceful coexistence and non-interference. The talks also addressed cooperation within international organisations such as the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Key regional projects, including the Aghband-Nakhchivan and North-South Transport Corridors, were recognised as vital for enhancing connectivity between the two nations.
