Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum supports Azerbaijani environmental activists
The Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum has condemned the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh economic region by Armenia.
Armenia violates all tripartite agreements by these steps, Report informs citing the decision taken following the meeting of the Executive Council of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) on January 27.
The ICYF leadership supported the peaceful rally of Azerbaijani environmental activists and NGO representatives on the Khankendi-Lachin road, and in this regard, called on the agencies within the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum to support Azerbaijani activists on various media platforms.
A rally on the Khankendi-Lachin road against the illegal exploitation of minerals in Karabakh economic region has been going on for 47 days.
A delegation consisting of specialists from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy and AzerGold company was supposed to preliminary monitor the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the Azerbaijani territory, in which peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, as well as review the related environmental and other problems as a result of negotiations with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent held on December 3 and 7, 2022.
However, the monitoring was not carried out due to the inaction of the peacekeepers.
