Islamic Development Bank interested in energy projects in liberated Azerbaijani lands
The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is interested in energy projects to be implemented in Azerbaijan, in particular in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as in the green energy corridor project that will connect Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary.
The statement came from the IDB President Muhammad Suleiman al-Jasser, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, at a meeting with Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov on March 1, Report informs.
Al Jasser informed about the bank's infrastructure projects, technical support, financial assistance, and work done towards the development of the private sector.
Minister Shahbazov, for his part, highlighted the effective cooperation between Baku and IDB and underlined the bank's support for energy projects in Azerbaijan.
The minister also informed the IDB official on reforms in the energy sector in Azerbaijan, prospects for the production and export of "green energy", and work in the areas of energy efficiency.
The meeting also saw a broad exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
