Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan highlights key cooperation areas

Luca di Gianfrancesco, the Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, has emphasized that fostering a strong partnership in the energy sector is a critical priority for Italy.

In a recent discussion with journalists, he elaborated on the importance of this collaboration and its impact on bilateral relations, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

"Italian businesses are eager to explore various collaborations with Azerbaijan, including in the sports sector," he said.

The ambassador highlighted the significance of the recent visit by Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov to Italy, which he described as a crucial development in strengthening the bilateral ties between the two nations. "Our focus remains on building a solid partnership in energy, and the recent visit by Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov to Italy highlights this commitment. These reciprocal visits underscore our shared goal of enhancing our bilateral ties and demonstrate the robust and productive nature of our relationship," the diplomat noted.

Luca di Gianfrancesco began his tenure as Italy's ambassador to Azerbaijan in May 2024, taking over from Claudio Taffuri.
