Jordan invites Azerbaijan to jointly invest in Syria’s reconstruction
Jordan has called on Azerbaijan to consider joint investment opportunities in Syria, highlighting emerging prospects across the Middle East.
The appeal was made by Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Alqudah, during the fourth meeting of the Azerbaijan-Jordan intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and technical cooperation, held in Baku, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Alqudah noted that significant opportunities are arising in the region, particularly in post-war Syria.
“Reconstruction and rehabilitation in Syria represent enormous potential,” he said. “Jordanian companies cannot fully capitalize on these opportunities alone. This is why we need a partner to invest jointly and effectively utilize such important prospects. We believe that Azerbaijan’s business community is an excellent partner for cooperation.”
The minister also pointed out Azerbaijan’s strategic position as a potential gateway for Jordanian companies seeking to access markets in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
“Jordan can become an important gateway for the Azerbaijani private sector into our region,” he stated. “At the same time, Jordan currently has no presence in CIS countries, while Azerbaijan maintains strong political, economic, and trade relations with them. We believe Azerbaijan can become our main entry point into these markets.”
