Chechen leader vows “harsh response” to Ukraine after Grozny attack
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has threatened Ukraine with a “harsh response” from tomorrow and continuing throughout the week, following a strike on high-rise buildings in the centre of Grozny.
Kadyrov made the remarks in a post on his Telegram channel, insisting that any retaliation would target military and terrorist sites rather than civilian infrastructure.
“Unlike them, we will not carry out cowardly strikes on civilian objects. Our attacks will be aimed at military terrorist targets. Wait and see!” he wrote.
He described the attack on Grozny as “completely meaningless and illogical” and stressed that the Chechen people would not be intimidated by explosions or strikes.
Kadyrov added that no casualties were reported and promised to repair the damaged building.
The warning comes after a drone attack at the “Grozny City” business centre on December 5, which damaged several floors and shattered the facades of multiple levels.
