The Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Business Forum, titled “Economic Cooperation in the Context of Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Initiatives,” took place in Astana.
Speaking at the forum, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration, Aidar Abildabekov, highlighted the expansion of trade relations as a major focus of cooperation between the two countries, Caliber.Az has learned from Azerbaijan's Economy Ministry.
He noted that logistics plays a crucial role in this process, stressing that both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are key participants in the Eurasian trade chain. Strengthening transport links, he said, will boost cargo movement across the region.
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Anar Akhundov, said trade turnover between the two nations for January–September 2025 nearly tripled compared with the same period last year, reaching $568 million. He also discussed Azerbaijan’s initiatives to expand the use of artificial intelligence and advance digital transformation in industry, highlighting opportunities for joint projects.
During the forum, several agreements were signed between government agencies and companies from both countries. The documents cover areas including the digitalisation of water management, industrial production, promotion of mutual investments, urban infrastructure development, and the establishment of a centre in Astana modelled on Azerbaijan’s “Small and Medium Business House.” Agreements were also signed in the fields of trade, health, and education.
The forum also hosted the third meeting of the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Business Council, further strengthening economic collaboration between the two countries.
