Kyrgyz ambassador thanks Azerbaijan's leadership for emergency equipment
Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov has expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of Azerbaijan, represented by President Ilham Aliyev, during a ceremony for the transfer of special equipment to Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Ambassador Mamytkanov also extended gratitude to the Azerbaijani people and the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for another humanitarian aid that Azerbaijan sends to Kyrgyzstan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations handed over 10 KamAZ fire trucks to Kyrgyzstan on March 22.
"This is a true testament to the strengthening bonds between our brotherly nations, which will only continue growing in the future. It reflects the political direction set by our leaders—presidents—who are committed to creating the necessary conditions to further strengthen our Turkic brotherhood," the ambassador told reporters.
The ambassador noted that this assistance is incredibly important for his country at this moment.
"Spring is the time when mudslides and other emergencies occur. The specialised equipment will be very useful in strengthening the material and technical base of Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations," Mamytkanov added.
Earlier, the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Investment Fund agreed to finance two major projects in Kyrgyzstan: the construction of a small hydroelectric power plant (HPP) and the establishment of a modern garment factory.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, the new HPP will have a capacity of 9 megawatts, while the garment factory is expected to create around 300 new jobs.
This decision follows the approval of a new investment policy by the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Investment Fund on January 30, during the Fund’s fourth council meeting, which was chaired by Elnur Aliyev, the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides noted that economic, trade, investment, and transportation cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan is becoming stronger.
