Kyrgyzstan eyes Azerbaijani satellites for digital, agricultural boost PHOTO
As part of a working visit to Baku, Bakyt Torobaev, Kyrgyz Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, held talks with Dunay Badirkhanov, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azercosmos, Azerbaijan’s national space agency.
The discussions focused on potential cooperation in the fields of space technologies, satellite communications, and digital solutions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
The Kyrgyz delegation expressed interest in leveraging Azerbaijani satellites for a variety of applications, including telecommunications, disaster management, agricultural monitoring, and environmental assessment. Officials emphasized that access to advanced satellite data could substantially enhance public administration efficiency and facilitate the implementation of major socio-economic initiatives.
The Azerbaijani side outlined the technical capabilities of its satellites, highlighting services such as data transmission, high-precision monitoring, and comprehensive digital solutions available to both government agencies and the private sector.
Concluding the meeting, both parties agreed to continue technical consultations and to develop concrete projects aimed at integrating satellite technologies into key sectors of Kyrgyzstan’s economy, signaling a growing partnership in space and digital innovation.
