Lithuanian defence minister urges to strengthen border security with Russia
Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas and Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite have agreed on comprehensive strengthening of state border protection as soon as possible.
As iz.ru reports, this was reported by Delfi portal on April 18 with reference to the head of the Lithuanian Defense Ministry.
According to the Minister, the agencies are discussing where exactly to strengthen the border and making engineering decisions.
"We have discussed how we will contribute to even greater border protection, because this is the work of both our institutions," Kasciunas emphasized.
He also added that Interior Ministry structures will be provided with slightly heavier weapons, including machine guns.
"We are thinking about reinforced concrete hedgehogs, 'dragon's teeth', 'Spanish horses'," the defense minister said, without specifying what the latter term means.
