Lithuanian parliamentarians to visit Azerbaijan’s Zangilan district

Members of the working group on inter-parliamentary relations with Lithuania and Deputy Chairman of the Lithuanian Seimas Jonas Jarutis discussed the current ties and future prospects.

The Lithuanian official, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, shared his views on strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and developing ties between friendship groups, Report informs.

Besides, it was noted that the Lithuanian parliamentarians will visit Azerbaijan’s Zangilan district on May 23.

Milli Majlis (Parliament) Committee Chairman Musa Guliyev, MPs Rasim Musabayov, Kamila Aliyeva, Vugar Iskanderov, Shahin Ismayilov, members of the Lithuanian delegation Kazys Starkevicius, Orinta Leipute, Rimante Salaseviciute participated in the meeting.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on November 20, 1995.

The working group on inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania was established on April 8, 2011. Similarly, the Lithuania-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group was established on October 28, 2012, and consists of 49 members.
