Malaysia parliamentary official calls on Armenia to harness regional development
Armenia should capitalize on the economic development of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, according to Wong Chen, Chair of Malaysia's Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Trade.
At the "Parliamentarianism: Traditions and Perspectives" conference in Baku, Chen emphasized Armenia's opportunity to enhance regional cooperation by leveraging the economic progress of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The conference, hosted in the Azerbaijani capital, brought together representatives from various countries to discuss the role of parliamentary traditions in shaping future political and economic cooperation.
To recap, Parliament in Baku is hosting an international conference titled "Parliamentarianism: Traditions and Perspectives". The event has attracted around 100 participants from 13 countries and representatives of international organizations.
The conference will examine the role of parliaments in global affairs, the evolution of parliamentary traditions, and the potential of parliamentary diplomacy in tackling contemporary issues.
A roundtable discussion focusing on “Azerbaijani and Turkish Examples of Parliaments in Public Diplomacy” is set to take place at ADA University as part of the programme. Delegates will also visit liberated Azerbaijani territories to witness reconstruction efforts.
The event will conclude on December 8.
