Media: EU to blacklist 16 citizens of Russia, Georgia, Moldova over "hybrid actions"
The European Union (EU) intends to blacklist 16 citizens of Russia, Georgia and Moldova for "hybrid actions".
Some 16 people will be sanctioned, including representatives of special services, law enforcement agencies, experts and journalists, Caliber.Az reports via the Polish radio station Polskie Radio.
Specific names were not given in order to ensure that the named persons could not escape the sanctions.
The innovation implies a ban on entry into the EU, the freezing of assets located in Europe, and the inability to obtain financing from Brussels.
Recall that on October 8, the European Union approved an updated mechanism of sanctions against Russia for "hybrid actions", as well as interference in elections abroad. The day before, the European Union introduced the 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions and a new blacklist for "hybrid actions".
On December 16, the EU foreign ministers are expected to approve the first such list along with the 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions, which contains measures against foreign tankers carrying Russian oil.
