Middle Corridor offers gains for every stakeholder, says Georgian FM
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili stressed that the Middle Corridor has the potential to bring significant benefits to all stakeholders, emphasising that its development serves the interests of multiple global players.
“The Middle Corridor can truly bring significant benefits to all stakeholders. This is not about the interests of a single player — the existence and development of this corridor serve everyone’s interests. If we look at the key global players today, each of them can have its own interest in the development of this corridor,” Botchorishvili said.
Responding to a journalist’s question about how Georgia manages to maintain a balanced diplomatic approach, the foreign minister highlighted the importance of pursuing a cautious and principled policy amid ongoing regional conflicts and security challenges.
“Calm may be too strong a word, but we have indeed managed to get through this period. The threats, of course, are always present. We must exercise particular caution, especially given that there is more than one conflict in the region — in the broader region. Naturally, under such circumstances, our policy must be highly calculated, principled and, at the same time, cautious. In this geopolitical reality, we need much more thoughtfulness and caution than perhaps other countries,” she added.
