Minister: Kazakhstan to export 20 million tons of oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan
Kazakh Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin has said that cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the energy sector are developing.
“Kazakhstan intends to export 20 million tons of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline,” Zhumangarin said in an interview with journalists following the 19th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Azertac reports.
According to the agreement signed between the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic SOCAR and the Kazakh KazMunayGas company, Kazakhstan plans to transport 1.5 million tons of oil per year through BTC in the future.
He added that 20,000 tons of Kazakh oil were transported in March 2023 while 125,000 tons of oil are planned to be pumped through BTC in April 2023.
