Minister: More elements of Azerbaijan's richest cultural heritage inscribed on UNESCO List
The role of TURKSOY in preserving and handing down to future generations the rich material and spiritual heritage of the Turkic states is invaluable, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev said.
He made the remark while speaking at the 9th meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the TURKSOY member countries, Report informs.
He said the rich natural heritage of Turkic states and joint activities in this area make TURKSOY one of the key organizations in the preservation of this natural heritage: "This is particularly important to address the issues mentioned in the resolutions adopted at the 8th meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the TURKSOY Member States in Bursa, Türkiye, especially enhancing joint cooperation in the field of protection of natural and cultural heritage."
Babayev stressed that Azerbaijan has been cooperating with UNESCO since 1992: "Over the past period, a number of elements of Azerbaijan's richest cultural heritage have been included in the relevant UNESCO list and have taken their rightful place on a global scale."
