Moscow traffic authority sues rapper Navai over road infrastructure damage
Moscow's Traffic Management Centre (GKU TsODD) has filed a lawsuit against rapper Navai Bakirov, known professionally as Navai, seeking more than 91,000 roubles in compensation for damage to road infrastructure caused in a traffic accident.
According to the press office of the Moscow City Court, the claim has been registered with the Kuntsevo District Court in Moscow, Russian media reports.
The lawsuit alleges that on 5 May, Bakirov was driving a Ferrari on Zubovsky Boulevard when he was involved in a road accident that damaged several traffic management facilities, including a traffic signal pole, a traffic light, an extension arm for the pole and two road signs.
The Traffic Management Centre said the total cost of repairs amounted to 91,282 roubles ($1,190), based on a revised cost estimate, and is seeking to recover that amount from the artist.
Bakirov is one half of the rap duo HammAli & Navai, alongside Alexander Gromov.
