MP: President Aliyev's views on Georgia reflect reality, strengthen bilateral ties

21 December 2024 09:21

Irakli Kadagishvili, Chairman of the Committee on Self-Government in the Georgian Parliament, has praised Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s statement regarding the situation in Georgia, describing his assessments as highly realistic.

Kadagishvili made the remarks following an interview in which Aliyev shared his views with Dmitry Kiselev, Director General of the International News Agency "Rossiya segodnya", Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The Georgian parliamentarian highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership and friendship between Tbilisi and Baku, stressing that these relations should continue to grow stronger in the future.

"Cooperation between our two countries must expand in all areas. As strategic partners and friends, Azerbaijan and Georgia should continue to support each other. Our shared goal is to ensure the stability and democracy of both nations," Kadagishvili stated.

He also underscored the need for accurate assessments of foreign interference, especially during elections, emphasising that such interference is unacceptable.

Kadagishvili further commended President Aliyev’s comments on the situation in Georgia, affirming that they were objective and reflective of the reality on the ground. "President Ilham Aliyev is well-informed about the situation in Georgia, and his assessment is in line with the actual circumstances," he said.

The Georgian official stressed that mutual support is key to furthering the development of ties between the two countries. He added that strengthening these relations will be beneficial for both nations, fostering robust partnerships in international matters.
