New Japanese ambassador presents copy of his credentials to Azerbaijani FM PHOTO

On December 30, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Katsuya Watanabe.

The Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az that the ambassador presented copies of his credentials during the meeting.

At the meeting, the agenda and prospects of bilateral cooperation as well as the regional situation were discussed. The sides highlighted the importance of historically established friendly relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan in various directions and the necessity of the development of bilateral relations. In this context, it was emphasized that high-level bilateral visits, political consultations and the intensification of the work of the Economic Commission are of great importance.

Green energy, transport and logistics, high technology, education and more have been identified as potential areas for cooperation.

During the meeting, Jeyhun Bayramov informed the Ambassador about Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan, the problem of refugees and displaced persons, and the history of the ended conflict. He stressed that Azerbaijan, as the initiator of the peace process with Armenia, is interested in establishing peace and stability in the region.
