Night strikes on Kyiv damage Azerbaijani embassy building
Azerbaijan’s embassy building in Ukraine was damaged during a series of large-scale missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, which also caused significant destruction to civilian infrastructure.
Some of the missiles targeted the Shevchenkivskyi district, where the Azerbaijani embassy is located. Several projectiles fell about 300 meters from the diplomatic facility, breaking windows in the embassy building, Caliber.Az reports per state media.
In areas near the embassy, the Lukianivka market and the Kvadrat shopping center were completely destroyed. Damage to residential buildings was also reported.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at least two people were killed and more than 40 injured as a result of the strikes. He added that 28 of the injured were hospitalized, with three in critical condition.
Officials noted that the number of casualties could change as debris is cleared and search operations continue.
