No talks planned between Putin, US military officials, Kremlin says
Russian President Vladimir Putin has no scheduled meetings with US military representatives following their visit to Kyiv, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed.
Speaking to journalists, Peskov was asked whether Putin would hold talks with the American generals currently in Kyiv meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“No, nothing has come up. I don’t know anything about it. This is the first I’m hearing of it,” Peskov responded.
In the same briefing, Peskov also commented on reports of a purported new 28-point plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
“I can only repeat what we have already said repeatedly yesterday. We cannot add anything new to what was stated in Anchorage, and there are no innovations on our side in this matter,” he said, signaling Moscow’s dismissal of the alleged proposal.
Earlier reports suggested that US President Donald Trump’s team had drafted a confidential 28-point plan in consultation with Moscow. The plan reportedly included the cession of the entire Donbas region to Russia, reductions in the size of the Ukrainian military, and the recognition of Russian as a second state language.
Attempts to coordinate the summit with Kyiv have so far stalled. Ukrainian authorities reportedly presented their own plan, which Moscow is unwilling to accept, preventing the meeting from moving forward.
