North Ossetia's Mozdok airfield targeted in first Ukrainian drone incursion
Today marks the first instance of Ukrainian drones infiltrating North Ossetia in the Russian Federation, targeting the strategic military airfield, "Mozdok."
Following the drone attack, reports indicate minor damage and fires in the area.
According to TASS, Sergey Menyailo, the head of the republic, confirmed the incident via his Telegram channel, stating that the Russian Defense Ministry's air defence forces successfully intercepted the UAVs over the republic's territory. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
In response to the breach, an operational headquarters has been established in the republic, with all services placed on high alert. Additionally, to ensure citizen safety in the Mozdoksky district, where the attack occurred, all mass gatherings have been cancelled.
Earlier reports from the region's head indicated that three drones, originating from the Ukrainian side, were shot down by air defence forces while en route to the military airfield in Mozdok, North Ossetia.
