Office of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company opens in Tashkent Economy minister attends the event
An opening ceremony of the office of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company was held in Tashkent.
The announcement was made by Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov on his page on social network X, Caliber.Az reports.
“We took part in the inauguration of the Azerbaijan–Uzbekistan Investment Company's office in Tashkent. The company, founded on joint investments, is set to elevate cooperation in mutual investments to new heights. Initially assessing the financing of approximately 15 projects, the company will play a key role in expanding bilateral strategic investments, supporting the private sector, and fostering entrepreneurship. Successful investments will lead to impactful projects, job creation, and contribute to the sustainable economic growth of both our nations,” Jabbarov wrote.
The Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company was registered in December 2023 in Uzbekistan as a joint venture, LLC "Azerbaijan Uzbek Investment" (AUIC). The company's mission is to provide financing for the further expansion and development of businesses by acquiring up to 49% equity in companies operating in various sectors of the economy.
The investment company's authorized capital, with its office located in the "Trilliant Tower 1" business centre in Tashkent, amounts to $500 million. The strategic goal of the joint venture is to promote import-substituting and high-tech industries, increase trade turnover between the two countries, develop processing industries and innovations, and attract foreign investment.
