Official: Cooperation between EU, Azerbaijan strengthened

Cooperation between the European Union (EU) and Azerbaijan, including in the field of energy, has strengthened.

EU Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan Peter Fisinger made the remarks at an event dedicated to the opening of the Eastern Partnership Trade Helpdesk in Azerbaijan on October 10, Report informs.

According to him, the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the EU and Azerbaijan in the field of energy should be specially noted.

“The EU is Azerbaijan's leading trading partner. 45% of Azerbaijan's total trade turnover is accounted for by the EU countries. In addition to oil and gas, Azerbaijan is the main exporter of hazelnuts to the EU countries,” Fisinger said.
