One dead, seven injured after new Russian strikes on Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia
The Russian Federation carried out another series of attacks on Zaporizhzhia today, hitting the city five times.
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, quoted by Ukrainian media, the strikes caused damage to warehouses and vehicles.
“Medical personnel are providing all necessary assistance to the victims,” Fedorov added. Currently, authorities report seven injured and one fatality.
This marks the second consecutive night of significant aerial attacks on Zaporizhzhia. Fedorov noted that the enemy deployed six high-explosive aerial bombs targeting civilian infrastructure and residential buildings, resulting in fires across the city.
Zaporizhzhia has faced intensified Russian shelling in recent days. Notably, in the early hours of August 22, a previous airstrike destroyed a two-story building and five vehicles, killing three people.
The repeated attacks highlight the ongoing threat to civilians and infrastructure in the region, with local authorities continuing to provide emergency assistance and assess the damage.
