Over 90 reps attend Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council meeting in Baku
Another meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council has been held in Baku.
More than 90 representatives from organisations and sectors spanning various areas of the economy, including agriculture, engineering, petrochemicals, banking, logistics, and others, attended the event alongside government officials, the Business Council told Caliber.Az.
While speaking at the event, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov highlighted the growth of cooperation between the two countries and emphasised the importance of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council's partnership mechanism in diversifying trade and economic relations. The sides underscored that the efforts to implement joint investment projects and enhance bilateral trade potential further strengthen ties between the business communities, contributing to the economic development of both nations.
Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council Samad Gurbanov, who informed about the activity of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council established by the business communities of the two countries, shared details about efforts aimed at enhancing trade and business relations, as well as supporting the interests of the Azerbaijani business community.
During the meeting, elections were held for the Council's Board of Directors. Emin Agalarov, founder of Agalarov Development, was elected as the Chairman of the Board. Executive Director of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev and Director of Nardaran Invest LLC Gambar Banenyarli were elected as Vice-Chairs of the Board. Newly elected Chairman of the Board, Emin Agalarov, emphasised the importance of the Council's work in enhancing the business dialogue between entrepreneurs and expanding partnership opportunities for the business communities of both countries.
During the event, Samad Gurbanov was awarded a Certificate of Honour for his contribution to the development of economic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.
The Business Council, operating since 2016, has been actively cooperating with Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy, Russia's Ministry of Economic Development, the Russia-Azerbaijan Business Council, and other state agencies and relevant public organisations from both countries.
