Pakistan warns India against "any future aggression", urges global vigilance
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has issued a strong warning to India, cautioning against any future acts of aggression and reaffirming its right to defend itself with “full resolve”.
In a series of sharply worded statements, the FO emphasised that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be misconstrued as weakness, Caliber.Az reports, citing Pakistani media.
“Pakistan’s commitment to peace must never be mistaken for weakness,” the FO said, adding that any hostile action from India would be met with a determined response.
Reiterating its long-standing position on the Kashmir issue, the FO stated that Islamabad remains committed to a peaceful resolution of the dispute “according to the UN Security Council resolutions”.
“We hope India will prioritise regional stability and the well-being of its citizens over the narrow, politically motivated jingoism,” the FO said.
The statement criticised what it called India’s “theatrical militarism and grandstanding”, arguing that these actions undermined regional peace. “The world is not served by India’s ‘theatrical militarism and grandstanding but by mature leadership, regional cooperation, and respect for international norms’.”
Meanwhile, the FO called on the international community to remain alert to developments in the region following the recent ceasefire, urging global actors to monitor New Delhi’s conduct. It warned that India’s recent behaviour could destabilise the entire region.
“India’s actions set a dangerous precedent for aggression, ‘dragging the entire region to the brink of disaster’,” the FO warned. It accused New Delhi of adopting a revisionist posture aimed at undermining strategic stability in South Asia.
“Moreover, India is justifying the cold-blooded murder of innocent civilians, mostly women and children, as well as its highly irresponsible brinkmanship as the ‘new normal’ for the region,” the statement continued.
“Pakistan totally rejects this assertion. The ‘normal’ remains that no one will be allowed to challenge the principles and purposes of the UN Charter, as amply demonstrated by Pakistan in resolutely defending its sovereignty, territorial integrity, as well as the security of its people.”
The FO stressed that Islamabad would be watching New Delhi’s actions “very closely” in the coming days and urged the international community to do likewise.
“Make no mistake, we will closely monitor India’s actions and behaviour in this regard in the coming days. We also urge the international community to do the same.”
