Peruvian TV channel shows Armenia’s occupation policy, Azerbaijan’s peace efforts

25 October 2023 19:28

One of Peruvian leading news channels, Latina TV, has prepared and showed video footage about the results of Armenia's occupation policy, the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from long occupation, the restoration of historical justice and new realities in the region.

The video footage from the territories liberated from occupation, filmed by a TV channel correspondent sent to Azerbaijan, was demonstrated during the TV show, the Azerbaijani embassy in Mexico told Azertac.

The Peruvian journalist said that the consequences of Armenian terrorism and vandalism that he witnessed in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam, Ganja and other cities are horrifying.

According to the video footage, Karabakh is no longer a subject of discussion. Azerbaijan has created new realities in the region, putting an end to the Armenian occupation. Armenia recognised Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and the signing of the long-awaited final peace agreement between the two countries will serve to security, stability, development and progress in the region.

The video footage also included an interview with Azerbaijani ambassador to Peru Mammad Talibov. The ambassador thoroughly informed about the latest developments in the Karabakh region and the peace agenda proposed by Azerbaijan. The return of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis, who were forced to leave their lands as a result of ethnic cleansing should be safe and dignified. This is one of the main challenges facing the Azerbaijani government. He emphasised that despite the consequences of the ongoing Armenian mine terror, large-scale restoration work is being rapidly carried out in the lands liberated from occupation.

The diplomat also touched upon the importance of the reintegration of the Armenian population of Karabakh into the socio-economic and socio-political life of the country within the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and spoke about the necessary measures taken for this purpose. The ambassador noted that during the visit of the UN mission to Karabakh, the mission noticed that no violence was done against local Armenian residents, social infrastructure was not damaged.

While speaking about the process of normalisation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, Ambassador Mammad Talibov noted the importance of signing the final peace agreement between the two countries, delimitation and demarcation of borders, as well as the opening of regional transport routes and communication.
