Presidential rep: Internet speed in Agali faster than Baku
Vahid Hajiyev, special representative of the Azerbaijani President in Zangilan District, has said that high-speed Internet has been provided in Zangilan's Agali village.
He made the remarks during an interview with APA.
"We are talking about a speed of at least 100 megabits. Even Baku does not have such a speed of Internet as in Agali," hajiyev stressed.
"The UN's Sustainable Development Goals include 17 goals, and we use at least 11 as a baseline when we design. One of those goals is the "Smart Village" and "Smart City" concepts", the special representative underlined.
"The Smart Village concept does not only depend on automation. Of course, smart technology is used in the village of Agaly. First, solar panels are used to provide hot water, the houses are built with thermal technology, provided with special insulation. This means saving energy consumption. Solar panels are installed on the roofs. Electricity is generated by the solar panels and the houses are fed with this energy. There is also an artificial lake in the village of Agaly. On this lake is installed Archimedes installation. The energy generated by the hydroelectric power plant is enough for the entire village. It is also one of the renewable energy sources. All of this is part of the concept of "Smart Village," he added.
