Prime Minister Pashinyan: Armenia not to fight for Karabakh
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has declared that Armenia will not engage in armed conflict over the region of Karabakh and does not foresee the imminent return of Armenians to the area.
Speaking during an interview with British journalists, Pashinyan's remarks were broadcasted on Public TV of Armenia, TASS reports.
The prime minister recalled that in response to a query from a displaced woman from Karabakh about the possibility of returning, he had conveyed, "in the current situation, I do not see the possibility of Armenians returning to Karabakh." His statement underscores the complexities surrounding the region following the recent conflict.
Pashinyan further emphasized Armenia's stance on territorial disputes, stating, "Armenia is not going to fight for Karabakh. We have no ambitions beyond internationally recognized borders." This assertion signifies Armenia's commitment to respecting established boundaries and advocating for diplomatic resolutions.
Highlighting hopes for the future, Pashinyan expressed optimism for the ongoing demarcation process, stating, "We hope that during the demarcation process, the territorial integrity of Armenia will be restored."
