Pro-Armenian US congressman complains to Biden about Azerbaijan F-16s, Abramses rushing to the rescue?

US Congressman Adam Schiff, who is tightly seated in the Armenian diaspora, sent a letter to President Biden calling for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council.

Caliber.Az reports that in the letter Schiff complained that the Armenians of Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region are living under a "blockade" by Baku, which allegedly has devastating consequences.

The congressman goes on to write that "the United States should take concrete action and immediately use other tools to pressure Azerbaijan to return to respect for international law and order."

In this regard, the pro-Armenian congressman urged Biden to take the following steps:

- Convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC) on the "crisis" in Karabakh.

- Instruct the US Mission to the UN to lead the drafting of a UN Security Council resolution calling on Azerbaijan to immediately comply with the rulings of the UN International Court of Justice, and provide for the dispatch of a team of experts from the organisation to the region.

- Instruct USAID and the Ministry of Defence to assess US capabilities to assist Karabakh by land or air.

- Call President Aliyev personally and urge him to "lift the blockade". Warn that continuing the "blockade" will have consequences, including the imposition of sanctions, visa restrictions, and termination of US assistance.

However, it is high time for Schiff and other American lovers of Armenians to realise that Azerbaijan is accustomed to double standards and remembers well the notorious 907th Amendment, which has been in force for many years, as well as the inaction of the UN itself. So, Azerbaijan should not be frightened by sanctions; it does not intend to compromise its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
