Rais of Tatarstan visits Azerbaijan for talks, business engagements
On December 16, Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, arrived in Azerbaijan for a working visit at the invitation of the Azerbaijani side.
Minnikhanov's trip began with a formal welcome at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, Russian Ambassador Mikhail Yevdokimov, and other dignitaries, Caliber.Az reports.
The agenda includes visits to Azerbaijani enterprises, as well as official meetings and discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties, officials said.
Tatarstan, known for its oil and industrial sectors, shares strong trade and investment links with Azerbaijan, and the visit is expected to explore opportunities for further cooperation, according to Azerbaijani state media.
To recap, in September speaking at a congress of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation in Moscow, the Rais of Tatarstan praised Azerbaijan’s progress across various sectors, including its economic growth and post-conflict reconstruction efforts.
Minnikhanov highlighted the strong ties between Tatarstan and Azerbaijan, commending the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“You have resolved a historical issue; the lands liberated from occupation are now free. This victory signifies Azerbaijan's remarkable growth,” he said, expressing his admiration for the country’s development and its cooperation with Tatarstan.
