Ruling party chief sounds alarm on external threats to Georgia’s stability
Kakha Kaladze, Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party and Mayor of Tbilisi, has publicly accused foreign actors—whom he collectively refers to as the “deep state”—of persistently attempting to foment unrest and orchestrate a revolution within Georgia.
Speaking to journalists, Kaladze condemned what he described as ongoing interference by “countries, organizations, and individuals” aligned with a so-called “party of global war.” According to him, these external forces are intent on destabilizing the nation by provoking disorder and even engineering a coup d’état, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Kaladze stressed that these efforts are not new, highlighting that in recent years there have been multiple attempts to spark revolutionary upheaval in Georgia with outside support. Despite these provocations, he asserted that all such attempts have ultimately failed, and he remains confident that the current maneuvers will also be thwarted.
“Our security and intelligence agencies remain vigilant and fully capable of countering any threats,” Kaladze stated. “All attempts, fueled by radicalism and hatred, will invariably be defeated.”
