Iran says 35 vessels safely transited Strait of Hormuz in 24 hours
Iran’s naval forces coordinated the safe passage of at least 35 vessels through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The IRGC Navy said the vessels — including oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial traffic — transited the strategically critical waterway after receiving authorisation and under security arrangements provided by Iranian forces.
In a statement cited by TASS, the IRGC said: “Over the past 24 hours, 35 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships and other commercial vessels, after receiving permission, passed through the Strait of Hormuz with coordination and security provided by the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”
The announcement comes amid ongoing tensions in the Persian Gulf region. The IRGC emphasised that, despite the heightened situation, Iran’s armed forces have maintained secure conditions for maritime navigation and international trade flows through the strait.
