Rumor of deportations: Azerbaijani community in Russia targeted by fake document PHOTO

14 February 2025 17:38

A fake "document" purporting to be an official order from the head of Russia's Investigative Committee, Colonel-General A.I. Bastrykin, is circulating widely among Azerbaijani diaspora groups in Russia.

The fabricated document claims to address the "deportation of Azerbaijani citizens from Russia" due to Azerbaijan's allegedly "unfriendly policy" toward Russia, supposedly aiming to protect Russian national security and interests.

This document, however, is a baseless fabrication, designed to sow discord and provoke anxiety within the Azerbaijani community. It is clear that those behind this deceptive attempt seek to stir up tension and create negative sentiments within the diaspora, likely fueled by external actors with ill intentions.

The document has no legitimate basis and is part of a campaign to cause unnecessary fear and unrest.
