Russia allows tourist-carrying busses at border to depart for Finland
The Russian government has lifted the coronavirus restrictions on the border, thereby allowing queueing buses to travel freely to Finland.
“On the morning of July 15, social networks reported queues at checkpoints in Finland and Estonia. Border guards from the Russian side were waiting for the publication of the relevant government decree, the press service of the bus carrier Lux Express,” Kommersant reports.
According to the company, the first flight from St. Petersburg to Finland took place on Friday even before the decision to lift restrictions was published. “We [stood] at the border for about an hour from the Russian side - all passengers had reason to cross the border. The bus is full,” the organisation said.
The press service of the bus carrier Ecolines also reported that buses are freely allowed to cross the border from the Russian side. “From 11:00 the restrictions are lifted. All buses are now allowed to cross [the border],” the company said.
