Russia, Azerbaijan forge new financial cooperation pathways in Moscow meeting
Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov convened in Moscow for the inaugural session of the Russian-Azerbaijani Financial Dialogue.
The dialogue focused on identifying key areas for collaboration, including the analysis and forecasting of budget system profitability, management of state debt, and the development of tax policies, Caliber.Az reports per Russian Ministry of Finance.
The ministers emphasized the importance of these areas for bolstering economic stability and efficiency in both countries.
Apart from these core topics, the meeting highlighted ongoing cooperation between the financial departments of Russia and Azerbaijan in budget policy and audit activities. The two countries also coordinate their efforts on various multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as within international financial institutions.
During the discussions, the sides exchanged views on the current macroeconomic landscape and emerging challenges, and shared best practices for mitigating economic risks.
The dialogue culminated in an agreement to advance practical initiatives that align with the mutual interests of Russia and Azerbaijan. To further these objectives, both finance ministries committed to organizing technical consultations with experts.
