Russia deports head of Azerbaijani diaspora in Moscow

Bakhtiyar Hasanov, head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Moscow, has been deported from Russia.
Hasanov was taken from a temporary detention centre for foreign nationals, where he had been held for a period, to an airport and subsequently deported from the Russian Federation, the report said, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Hasanov, who heads the Azerbaijani National-Cultural Autonomy in Moscow, had his Russian citizenship revoked last year.
In June 2026, he was detained by Russian law enforcement authorities and placed in a temporary detention centre for migrants.
