Russia eyes new inter-parliamentary roadmap with Azerbaijan, official says
Russia expects to begin preparations for a new inter-parliamentary cooperation roadmap with Azerbaijan for 2027–2028 after the completion of the current joint plan, First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskin has stated.
Speaking at the 25th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Russia Inter-Parliamentary Commission in Baku, he said the sides are currently implementing measures outlined in the inter-parliamentary cooperation roadmap for 2024–2026, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“We are closely monitoring these activities, and when we hold the next meeting of the inter-parliamentary commission, we expect to already prepare a roadmap for the next period — 2027–2028,” he noted.
Yatskin stressed that work on the new roadmap should begin in advance and instructed relevant parliamentary bodies of both countries to prepare proposals.
He also highlighted the importance of healthcare and education issues on the commission’s agenda, calling them significant for humanitarian cooperation and broader human relations development.
