Russia says over 29,000 civilians harmed in Ukraine war
Russia’s Investigative Committee of Russia said more than 29,000 Russian civilians, including 1,168 children, have been harmed since the start of the war, attributing the casualties to actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The figures were released as part of an official update on the impact of the conflict on Russian territory, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Separately, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Kyiv of carrying out attacks against civilian populations and infrastructure, describing such actions as part of what she called a “hybrid war” against Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also alleged that Ukraine has been striking civilian targets inside Russia in an attempt to demonstrate progress amid battlefield setbacks. He said such actions would not alter the course of the conflict, adding that Ukrainian forces were continuing to retreat along parts of the front line.
