Russian president to visit Kazakhstan for key discussions on regional security
Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit Kazakhstan on November 27 for a state visit.
During the visit, President Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will take part in the 20th forum on interregional cooperation between the two countries via video conferencing, the press service of the Kazakh leader said, Caliber.Az reports.
The event is scheduled to be held in Ufa, Russia's Bashkortostan Region.
"Within the visit, the sides will hold negotiations at the highest level. The presidents will take part in the 20th Forum of Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation via video link," the press service said.
Putin will arrive on a state visit to Astana on November 27 at Tokayev's invitation, the press service added.
The visit will also coincide with the forthcoming session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Collective Security Council, scheduled for November 28. The CSTO summit, to be chaired by President Tokayev, will gather delegations from member states to deliberate on key issues surrounding regional and international security. In addition to these discussions, the Council is expected to adopt a series of documents that will address pressing security concerns in the region.
