Russian pundit: US not too concerned about Armenia
Russian Doctor of Political Sciences Galina Mikhaleva has said that Washington puts Armenia in some penultimate place in terms of importance among all other countries.
She made the remarks in an interview with Armenian media, commenting on the visit of US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien to Baku.
"The US considers itself practically a world gendarme and responsible for all politics, and naturally it tries to build relations with all countries, actually on this vector, up to China,” Caliber.Az quotes Mikhaleva as saying.
According to the political expert, James O'Brien’s visit to Baku in connection with the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict has no significance for Washington.
“I'm sorry, of course, but for Washington, Armenia is in some penultimate place in terms of importance out of all other countries. By the way, not only for Washington but also for the EU. And in general, this conflict went into the shade when the conflict between Hamas and Israel started. That is why I think Armenia is of very little concern to the US, unfortunately," Galina Mikhaleva said.
