SAHA 2026: Azerbaijani naval chief reviews PİRANA kamikaze drone in Istanbul PHOTO
At the SAHA 2026 defence and aerospace exhibition in Istanbul, Azerbaijani Navy Commander, Rear Admiral Shahin Mammadov, visited the stand of Turkish defence manufacturer Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE).
Thus, Mammadov was briefed on the company’s defence products, including the PİRANA unmanned surface vehicle, a kamikaze-style naval drone, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The PİRANA is an unmanned surface craft (USV) designed for asymmetric warfare environments. It is also capable of executing swarm attack operations, allowing multiple units to coordinate strikes simultaneously.
The exhibition is part of the wider SAHA 2026 International Defence and Aerospace Exhibition, which brings together defence industry representatives, military officials, and technology developers from various countries.
