Seminar on information services in OTS countries underway in Tashkent

A seminar entitled “Information Services-2024: Local and Foreign Experience” for press services of ministries and state structures of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) countries is being held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.

The event is attended by Chairman of the Azerbaijani Audiovisual Council Ismat Sattarov; Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijani State Information Agency (Azertac) Vugar Aliyev; Executive Director of the Azerbaijani Media Development Agency Ahmad Ismayilov; Deputy Head of the Press Service Department - Head of the Department of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Vasif Aliyev, as well as heads of press services of several state agencies, Azertac reports.

The seminar, organized by the Information and Mass Communication Agency of Uzbekistan, talked about establishing effective communication between relevant structures of Turkic states, mutual exchange of information, and dialogue. It was noted that the OTS pays attention to expanding cooperation with the participating countries not only in strengthening economic and cultural ties but also in the field of information. This also includes a joint fight against fake news and disinformation and operational dialogue between the structures. To this end, representatives of media and state structures of the member countries regularly participate in training held in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Kazakhstan.

The head of the directorate under the Azerbaijani Media Development Agency, Rasim Bagirov, made a speech at the seminar on media, media development trends in Azerbaijan, and relations between state structures and media. In addition, reports of representatives of relevant structures of Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan were heard.

The event will continue until 30 May.
