Azerbaijan's Shusha set to host 9th Kharibulbul International Music Festival
The 9th edition of Kharibulbul International Music Festival is set to take place in Shusha on May 14–15, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Culture.
This year’s edition will showcase performers and musical ensembles from Azerbaijan, the United States, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Japan, and other countries, reflecting the festival’s growing international appeal, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The festival will open on May 14 with a concert at Jidir Duzu and will feature performances across multiple venues in Shusha over the two-day event.
Named after the Kharibulbul flower, a symbol of Shusha, the festival was first held in 1989 and gained international status in 1990. During the Karabakh conflict, main concerts were relocated to Aghdam, with additional performances staged in Barda and Aghjabadi. Following the liberation of Karabakh, the festival has returned to its original home in Shusha, symbolizing the city’s cultural revival.
