South Korea displays powerful military equipment in largest parade since 2013
South Korea held its largest Armed Forces Day ceremony in a decade, featuring thousands of troops and a display of weapons capable of reaching North Korea.
As reported by CNN, the parade took place in the capital, Seoul, and was accompanied by President Yoon Suk Yeol's commitment to strengthen the country's military to deter potential provocations from North Korea.
Addressing the assembled soldiers, President Yoon expressed confidence that the impressive display, which took place amid increased tensions in the region with both North Korea and China, would boost public trust in national security and pledged continuous support from the people.
The military parade, which was the first of this scale since 2013, showcased an array of military assets, including tanks, artillery systems, drones, and powerful ballistic missiles with the capability to strike anywhere in North Korea. Approximately 4,000 South Korean troops, carrying rifles or flags, participated in the parade, were joined by around 300 US soldiers.
